Decorate A Duck and Win a Party for 20 at A Community Bowling Center.

(Detroit, MI – August 4, 2008) . . . Community Bowling Centers is teaming up with Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan (Gleaners) to Strike Out Hunger and kickoff Gleaners 2nd annual Detroit Duck Derby.  From August 11th to August 22nd all 14 bowling centers will host a non-perishable food drive and children of all ages are invited to decorate a duck picture and register to win a free, two-hour bowling party for 20 people.

Community Bowling Centers are collecting food to help feed hungry children, seniors and families. Each person that brings in a non-perishable food item will get to bowl for $.99 per game.  The goal is to collect 25,000 pounds of food and to raise awareness of the need of food assistance across Southeastern Michigan.

Children can draw, color or paint their own duck on an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper or download the duck drawing found on www.gcfb.org.  Artists can bring their creations to one of the participating bowling centers listed below.  The artists will be entered into the drawing and their artwork will be put on display in each bowling center for customers to admire.  The drawings will be held on August 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at all participating centers
